Q&A – You’re facing fierce competition in a crowded market. How can you stand out from your rivals?

Growth , Guest Retention

I’ve spent my working (and personal) life in the hyper-competitive restaurant industry. My most successful tactic to stand out among heavy competition involved incentivizing my existing customers to bring in new guests…their friends. I would reward them on their next visit and allow them to “host” their friend’s first meal at my restaurant. They really loved how that made them look like a big shot. 🙂

How could you make this concept work for your business? Step one is making sure you’ve got your customers preferred contact info.

Q & A – Management Agreement

Growth , Refine

Question: I’m selling my restaurant to my 2 daughters that have been working there for the last 15 years. I need a managers agreement form to get us through until the liquor license transfer is approved. Anyone know a where I can find this would be very much appreciated.

Answer: A boiler plate agreement may not do the deed, but a truster business attorney could sit with the three of you and write something up in plain language that would protect you all for just a couple hundred bucks. I’m quite certain.

Persistence via Napoleon Hill

Growth , Marketing , Operations , Uncategorized

Four steps to developing persistence:

Step 1: A Definite purpose backed by burning desire for its fulfillment.

Step 2: A definite plan, expressed in continuous action.

Step 3: A mind closed tightly against all negative and discouraging influences (including friends and family).

Step 4: A friendly alliance with one more more persons who will encourage one to follow through with both plan and purpose.

How powerful is that? Talk about a plan that you could stick to. I nearly printed it out and stapled it to my forehead.
